No Doubt!

Hubby and I went to a No Doubt concert last night. We had great seats and it was a rockin' concert! Paramore was opening for them, and we completely missed them because we were stuck in traffic! The concert started at 7pm, and we left about two hours before that... but we didn't get there until 9!! Traffic literally CRAWLED the last half on the journey. But we got there in plenty of time to see No Doubt start.

PIE

The girls and I went to Butlers Orchard the other day to pick strawberries.

Then I came home and whipped it into a strawberry rhubarb pie! (yes, I even did that crust by myself!)

It's okay, I know what your thinking... and the answer is YES! it was Delicious!

Swim Team

Elle has been in summer team for about 2 weeks now and this morning was their first 'time trials' where each kid has to get timed in different swim strokes. Today is Saturday and the trials began at 7 o'clock in the morning! Luckily the weather was great and the coaches provided breakfast. Which was good because we were there for 3 hours and left at 10. Even when we left though, the older kids were still doing stuff, and the trails were going strong!
I had to take Pinky with me this time which was okay. She did very well and cheered at all the right times!

Here it was at the beginning:

Here's Elle about to dive...can you tell which one is her?

Even though Pinky did great, she didn't take kindly to be waking up at 6:30am, so she snoozed on my lap for about 30 minutes at the pool.

Swimming makes a person hungry!:

I was so proud of Elle today! Even after 3 hours, I thought she was going to collapse, but she came up to me and said "It is time to go yet?... Because I don't want to go! I want to stay and swim longer!" What a trooper! She wasn't anywhere near the fastest for her age group, but she has accomplished the one thing I set out for her to accomplish which is, she will never drown and is completely confident in the water! With the added bonus of her LOVING the water!

Having issues...

It's been a while since I posted! My Internet is perfectly fine in every way except allowing me to post! I couldn't log in... for no particular reason at all that I could see. Every other website works just fine but blogger.com... not so much! Anyway after much fiddling with things, hubby found a roundabout way for me to log in and post (the initial problem still isn't solved), but at least I'm able to get around the problem. I'll post more later when I have more time!

Our Last Field Trip of 1st Grade!

We are officially done with the school year! I have a few more little things to get done throughout the summer, but Elle has finished the first grade! We celebrated by going to the Baltimore Science Center. That was our very first field trip of the school year... and again our last! The kids were SUPER excited to go again and here are just a few highlights from the day.

Summer haircuts

It was time for a new style! I've only ever just 'trimmed' the girls' hair, but I wanted a real style, so I decided on a stacked bob! It makes their hair look thicker and is very chic! I went to 'The Yellow Balloon'. It's a kids only salon and my kids loved it! They've never had a really cute haircut before and when we walked out, they were both swinging there head around laughing. Belle kept telling me how everyone kept staring at her because she looked so good, LOL!
With summer here, I wanted something that would be minimal effort in the morning! As is is now, they use more conditioner in the morning then I do!
Here's Pinky Before:
