Pesky kids

This is what happenes when big sister and little sister argue. Big sister is old enough to know not to hurt little sister physically, but can definetely throw some punches verbally. Little sister 'should' know not to hurt... but hasn't quite grasped it yet, and hurls heavy objects at big sister when mad. Ah yes, the love runs deep!

Chores

So after a long time of researching various chore charts (ei: thinking about it once in a while and looking them up online, but not being impressed with what I saw). I decided to make my own!

The left side is Belles side and the right side is Pinkys side. They each have their own color coded clothes pins. Each morning, their chores have their colored pins next to them. When they finish a chore, they can flip the pin over to the blank side (as you can see one of the pins on the left is flipped over). Before bedtime they get to pick a gem for each chore completed and stick them into a jar. At the end of the week, they get a dime for each gem they have. (uncompleted chores gets a dime taken away).

So far they love it! The gems are their favorite part! And they aren't cheap plastic gems, these are really nice beautiful ones we've collected for the kids over the course of last year... this was the perfect time to bring them out and use them! I swear though, our kids LOVE gems, crystals, shiny things... so these were a hit. I think moreso then getting the dimes afterwards.

Valentines Party

The girls had their Valentines Day party yesterday. Pinky made foam heart valentines, you can't tell from the picture, but she was very methodical in her sticker arranging!



Belle made marshmallow valentines. Yes, they LOOK cute... but like I've said before... I don't have a crafty bone in my body, everything I do is a copycat of something I see on the Internet. So, I can't take credit for how cute these are!

Here's a picture of Hubby with the kids the other night. It's rare to have a warm night in the middle of winter... but we did! It got up in the low 60's that day and it happen to be a full moon that night, so we broke out the telescope (the moon looked very cool!)We havn't hung out on the deck for months! Ahh... I can't wait until Spring!

I've been waiting for this day

Seven years I've been dreaming of this day! I've been slowly working up to it over time. What is it you ask? Why only the best day in a parents life!!! The day your kids can take over VACCUUMING!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE a vacuumed house! I like to see vacuum lines always! this past week I've been out of commission as far as cleaning, cooking and definitely pushing around a vacuum. It has been making me crazy seeing footprints all over the carpet.
We have a Dyson vacuum that I love, but it was hard to move up and down the stairs on other floors. So, hubby bought two smaller Eureka vacuums. So we now have one on each floor! And it's small enough that Belle can totally use it! Today I decided to try it out!
I asked her to get it and plug it in. She's tried before with the big Dyson vacuum and it was just too big and heavy for her. But these smaller ones are perfect! She vacuumed the whole living room and basement stairs. I've been waiting a LONG time to dole out chores of this magnitude. Sure, she can clear the table and make her own bed... but now I can have her vacuum!!! Do you know how much time this frees up for me?? Soon, I'll have to teach Pinky how to do the laundry, then my evil plan will be complete!
I love being a parent! HA!

Sealing date!!

We finally have a sealing date of May 15th!! It's a Friday, then on the following day we will head out to the beach for a week for vacation! YIPPEE!!!! I've been scanning the internet for dresses. I want a traditional wedding picture with my groom!
